Still fishing drys
Guide reports coming in on Monday from the weekend are that drys are still fishing very well throughout the canyon. Fishing is still amazing, so this week should be too.

Stones Everywhere!!
The main hatch has moved upriver past Chukar, but the rest of the canyon as well as the Pleasure Park area continues to fish well on adults as well as Yellow Sallies, Golden Stones and Caddis. It doesn't get any better than this.

Still on drys at the forks
Fished the forks early this morning till 11am. Fished well on stone drys. Fish were coming up for them consistantly all morning, but got a little picky later. It wasn't amazing but really good. I was surprised to see that many stones still around at the forks. I did not hike up at all, fished right from the parking lot.
Suggested Flies: Different Stone Drys...they all worked.

hatching, but not the EPIcenter
we went into duncan today. there were four in our group, 35 fish total. six fish +15in., eight fish -8in. i believe the stonefly hatch is past its prime THERE. they were there. however, i believe the epicenter must be chukar and beyond. update your map. it is a good tool for others. i could not catch a fish on a nymph (that's ok). most all fish were caught 2 ft. from the bank. 14 people were in duncan.
Suggested Flies: smaller stones (all dries)

Black Canyon National Park at SOB Draw
The flow is down and the water is clearing in the Black Canyon National Park at SOB Draw. Got down there Friday morning and by the mid afternoon the hatch was on - BIG TIME! Fished Stonefly nymphs and dries until my arm was too sore to throw a rod. I ate some aspirin and kept on going into the evening. Saturday morning was the same. The air was full of Stoneflies once again. On Saturday I stopped counting at 21 trout landed with plenty of day light left. Most trout were between 16 and 20 inches.
Suggested Flies: Stonesflies (dry and nymph) and small green buggers.

epic day
Went into Red Rock Canyon on Thursday and Friday and found epic action with tons of salmon flies and caddis hatching (most of them landing in my hair). Picked up all browns and most of those being only a few feet from the bank. The water is still somewhat murky but the food is beyond plentiful. If you have a fly rod you better get down there for some of the best fishing you'll ever do in your lifetime!!
Suggested Flies: stone nymphs, grasshoppers, caddis emergers, salmonfly dries, caddis dries

Hatch full on!
Guided trips yesterday reported the best fishing of the year and of the hatch. Fish are looking up and stones are flying and keyed in through the canyon. With the warm weather and lower flows, the stones have exploded through the canyon. This weekend and this week will be awesome. Water color is still a bit green but getting clearer. There are also caddis and yellow sallies so keep a look out. This is it. Get out now!
Suggested Flies: Stone drys, caddis, yellow sallies
